Einstein says...

"Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love."

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."

"A person starts to live when he can live outside himself."

What say people? Do you think this funny looking man is all that funny about what he says?

I saw a documentary on the History channel about Einstein. He in his own way is a remarkable man who definitely has a sense of humour. The oddity of such a character is what's appealing. But aren't all creative geniuses odd? They perceive the world differently. They live and breathe their destiny. The first quote: It is perception that attracts us to one another. The beauty, the smile, the personality something which makes us take notice. I believe it is a natural gravitational pull of unseen forces that brings lovers together. Falling in love, however, is a continual work in progress. Love should be something more solidified than basic attraction but it does start there. So don't know, I have to think on that one. The last one, a resounding YES. I agree wholeheartedly. If we look beyond our problems and circumstances not focusing on the negative aspects of our lives and embrace future, making our marks upon the worldly concrete then we as humanity will truly live.
He is pure genius...he was so ahead of his time, only now are we truly able to practice what he already knew...

      I bow to him...

      much love

I enjoy good quotes and some of his are the best. Very interesting life story. Not much of a family man but I believe he cared for others. Did you know they asked him to be the leader of Israel?

Otin - Thanks for visiting my blog.

Doesn't it always happen that the people around us are so un assuming and you're more than once than shocked to find out who exactly they are? And Eistein was an ideal eg. of the guy next door who knew as Uncle Eistein but the world looked at him as the greatest of brain machine ever to have walked the earth.

She Poet - You read a bit too much into that first quote. Einstein, for the genius that he was, was also a very humorous man. And when he said, "Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love", he meant nothing deep. He was just making a very light veined joke.

lisleman - Einstein was very much a family man and he loved his wife and always used to talk in praise of hers. But the poor old genius that he was, he was too absent minded to take care of domestic issues. But his wife was smart enough to take care of both his house as well as him.

And about someone asking him to be the leader of Israel - Well, do you think this man would have, at any point of time, cared to have taken up such a responsibility? I mean, he was someone who'd be least interested in such things like nationalism or being endowed with such heavy political responsibilities.
